Panavision Genesis Receives SOC Award

The Society of Camera Operators (SOC) has given Panavision Inc. a Technical Achievement Award, their highest technology award, for the design and development of the Genesis Digital Camera System.

One of the motion picture industry’s most sophisticated cameras, the Genesis system enables cinematographers to shoot in the digital realm with no compromises on depth of field, portability, sensitivity, or dynamic range or color.

Panavision Receives Three Vanguard Awards

Panavision has been recognized by Millimeter Magazine with three of the 14 top awards for product innovation in 2007.  Millimeter is among the production technology industry’s most prestigious journals.  Its Vanguard Awards were announced in November, 2007.

The magazine awarded 2007 best product innovation kudos to Panavision’s SSR-1 solid state digital recorder designed for use with the Panavision Genesis® Digital Camera System or Sony’s F23 system; the Panavision 2-perf camera; and the Panavision G-series prime anamorphic lenses.

Panalog Plugin for Adobe After Effects

A Panalog conversion plugin for Adobe After Effects is now available for download.

The Panalog plugin is an extension to Adobe After Effects that implements some of the Panalog conversion functions. The plugin has been tested with After Effects version 6.5 and later, and is available for both Mac OSX and Win32 platforms.

Panavision Solid State Recorder

The Panavision SSR-1 is a small, lightweight, solid state recorder designed for use on the Genesis® digital camera, as a stand-alone unit, and coming soon, the Sony F23.

The SSR-1 mounted on Genesis is particularly suited to handheld and Steadicam™ work, or tight shooting situations like the inside of a car. The SSR-1 design, connectors and controls make it easy to integrate into current workflows based on the SRW-1 HDCAM SR recorder.
