What is Big TV ?

Big TV is like Standard TV only Bigger! The TV / 4:3 aspect ratio of both Ground Glasses is the same. However, because Big TV is a Super 35 format, it utilises the full width of the negative including the theatre release sound track area. This gives Big TV an increase of available negative area of 29% (see illustration). Choosing between these Ground Glasses needs to be decided in advance of your test day so that the equipment can be prepared for either Super 35 or Standard 35 format.
